Dan Oberlander is a management consultant with over 35 years of experience as both a successful manager of national and global hotel chains and as a principal consultant on projects throughout North America and the Caribbean. Oberlander is a specialist in turnarounds and growth projects for under-performing assets.

After serving as a General Manager for a number of hotels Canada, Oberlander was recruited by Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts when Four Seasons was a start-up with a portfolio of three properties. His success as General Manager of the Four Seasons – Inn on the Park, Toronto to his promotion to Senior Vice President, Operations and Development where he spearheaded expansion to 23 hotels across North America.

Oberlander left the Four Seasons group to take on the top executive position at
Canadian National Hotels. His mandate as President and COO was to turn around the under-performing government-owned portfolio of eight heritage hotels and ready them for sale. He doubled revenue and increased profits by over 400% and after five years, CN Hotels ultimately sold at a 50% premium over the valuation.

Oberlander went on to head up two mid-sized hotel groups, first as President and Chief Operating Officer of Delta Hotels & Resorts in Toronto where he lead the acquisition of a 26-property, $25MM management contract for a consortium of investors. Afterwards, he joined Cunard Hotels & Resorts Inc. as Managing Director out of New York City where he led an international hotel operation with seven luxury properties in the UK, USA and Caribbean. Under his leadership, core property gross operating profit rose by 75% and he was able to unlock additional value by converting unused land at resort properties into second-home development projects.

Dan was born in London, England and spent his formative years in Montreal, Canada. He attended Cheshire Academy in Connecticut and McGill University in Montreal.
